The project

Shinto Teppanyaki: Japanese Steakhouse Restaurant

Overview:
Shinto Teppanyaki is an upcoming Japanese steakhouse set to open in the Space Coast area. I was contracted to design the logo for this new venture as well as helping to choose a distinctive name for the restaurant. The client originally had a generic placeholder name, and I suggested "Shinto" for its cultural significance but also its ease of pronunciation across many languages, which makes it memorable.

  • Name Selection: I suggested the name "Shinto," inspired by Torii gates, symbolizing a welcoming entrance to a sacred space. This name was selected for its relevance to Japanese culture and its simplicity.
  • Logo Design: Drawing inspiration from the Torii gate, I created a logo with clean lines and a modern typeface that balances a sense of timeless tradition with a modern appeal.
  • Color: I used a bold, vibrant primary color for the brand, paired with a sleek, minimalist typeface. The logo’s simplicity and elegance are designed to appeal to customers seeking an authentic yet modern dining experience.

The combination of the distinctive name and logo should set Shinto Teppanyaki apart from other restaurants in the area. This project provided an excellent opportunity to craft a unique identity from a simple conceptual idea.
